We've had such a great time out here lately with live music, that we've decided to extend add Friday night music as well as our fan favorite Sunday afternoon series on the Grotto. So grab your buds and come chill with us. Here are this weekend's shows:

Cyclone Football! We all miss football. And the only place you can get a real Jack Trice atmosphere is over here at Wellman's West. So let's do this. The first game is Saturday, September 12, at 11:00am. Our doors will open at 10, so get in here for some brunch to cheer on the Cyclones with your friends.

We'll give you a punch card. If you drink all 25 craft beers on our menu, you're eligible to win! You’re on your way to drinking yourself to some AWESOME prizes! You will get to enjoy some great tasting craft beer along the way!
You can start stamp card today and the contest goes until Midnight on December 25th. $3 draws of that craft beer for the day! (You’re not limited to just that beer that day)
You must buy one of each beer within the 25-day period. Beers can be drank whenever, you’re not limited to the beer on special that day.
Upon completion, you will turn in your stamp card. Show your ID for proof of ID. You will then receive a $25 gift card to Wellman’s, a 6 pack of assorted craft beer, and your slip you filled out will be entered into a drawing for several grand prizes.

West Des Moines Craft Beer: Peace Tree Brewing's Blonde Fatale at Wellman's Pub and Rooftop
Today, we're profiling one of our mainstays: Peace Tree Brewing's Blonde Fatale, brewed in Knoxville, Iowa. What's not to love about Peace Tree? They started with a passion for beer out of an old abandoned car dealership in Knoxville and have grown to become one of the most respected craft breweries in the Midwest. We proudly pour the Blonde Fatale and often feature many others from Peace Tree. Here's a bit about the Blonde Fatale from Peace Tree's website:

Wellman's Craft Beer Profiles! Best Craft Beer in West Des Moines: Exile Hannah
Because we love craft beer around here (duh!), we're going to do the next best thing to drinking beer... We're going to talk about it. So every once in a while, we'll feature a craft beer that you can get here at Wellman's Pub & Rooftop in West Des Moines. For the moment, we're going to tackle our Iowa brewed beers that we feature here, starting with one of our favorites: Exile Brewing Company from Des Moines.
We love Exile for many reasons. Yes their beer is outstanding, but first and foremost, we love that it's a family owned place, owned by the Tursi family of Latin King Fame. They took some of the best knowledge of beer and the food that they've crafted for decades and took the risk to brew something beautiful. In fact, they've created lots of beautiful things.
One of our favorites is their Bavarian Wheat that they call "Hannah." Here are the tasting notes from their website:
Intense aromas of clove and banana give way to a mouthwatering citrus flavor in this unique brew. German wheat and malt come together in a meticulous decoction mash to make a distinct and refreshing beer. Wellman’s Pub Partners With Iowa Beverage System to Support St. Jude Research Hospital
Wellman’s Pub in Des Moines and Wellman’s Pub & Rooftop in West Des Moines, announced today that they are again partnering with Iowa Beverage Systems to support St. Jude Research Hospital this holiday season.
This is the second year in which Wellman’s has participated. It began in 2014 as a holiday-themed event for one weekend, but has evolved into a holidays-long event lasting most of December. Last year Wellman’s ended the fundraiser with a private event wherein people were able to donate more. Because of this success, it's become an annual event.
“We are very excited to continue our tradition of contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to help raise funds to support its mission to find cures for children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases," said Wellman's Pub & Rooftop owner Tom Baldwin. "This year’s campaign slogan ‘Don’t be a Grinch, Giving is a Cinch’, was a collective idea of several of our waitresses and bartenders. Last year, our employees, loyal customers, and even those stopping in for the first time donated to make this event a resounding success."
How the community can help:
- December 7---December 31: Anyone can stop into either of the two Wellman’s Pub locations and make a donation. Servers and bartenders will ask each customer if they'd like to donate. With every donation, customers will have a stocking hung at the bar in their honor.
- December 17, 18, & 19: for any bottle or draw of Coors Light sold, Iowa Beverage Systems will be donating $1 towards this great cause!
